In 1975 students from Wellington and Palmerston North Teachers Colleges march from Flagstaff Hill to Parliament carrying a coffin to symbolise the death of teacher training. They were protesting about proposed changes to student allowances by the Labour Government. They met Mike Moore who was Labour MP for Eden and the youngest MP in Parliament at that time.
